Diego, a Mexican national with strong wilderness survival skills, has been missing for 4 days after going snorkeling at Dabai Sha, Green Island. It is suspected he may have drifted toward the waters near Okinawa.
His family is appealing to the Japan Coast Guard for help and is offering a generous reward of $50,000 USD to anyone who finds him alive or helps bring him back safely.

Diego Dorantes Sanchez went missing while swimming near Dabaisha Beach, Green Island, Taiwan, at around 1:00 PM on June 30, 2025.
He is an experienced scout, physically strong and mentally resilient, with excellent wilderness survival skills. We firmly believe he is still alive.
Given the strong Kuroshio Current, we believe Diego may have been carried toward Japan’s Okinawa Prefecture, especially the Yaeyama Islands (notably Yonaguni or Ishigaki), or nearby waters.
His family is offering a $50,000 USD reward for anyone who finds him alive or helps ensure his safe return.
Description:
Approximately 172 cm tall, 23 years old, dark brown skin, brown eyes, short curly black hair, cactus tattoo on his back.
At the time of disappearance, he was wearing shorts and a Casio watch.

Es un scout con mucha experiencia, físicamente fuerte y mentalmente resiliente, con excelentes habilidades de supervivencia en la naturaleza. Estamos convencidos de que sigue con vida.
Dada la fuerte corriente de Kuroshio, creemos que Diego pudo haber sido arrastrado hacia las islas Yaeyama de la prefectura de Okinawa (especialmente Yonaguni o Ishigaki), o a otras aguas cercanas.
